Wickerman
D8 in collaboration with Synchronicity Films, created a multimedia website and viral email campaign based around a comedy 'rockumentary' film on the Wickerman music festival in Dumfries. A weekly series of webisode clips from the film were released in the month leading up to the festival, and a campaign of richly designed HTML emails alerted registered users when new clips were published on the site. The website also encouraged users to forward the clips to their friends. Following this campaign, a wide array of user statistics and data were readily available, including the number of emails opened, subscriber growth rates and the number of emails forwarded.
The campaign garnered lots of interest in both the Wickerman festival and the film production company. Through it's highly watchable 'viral' nature, it increased the number of subscribers on the Wickerman mailing list by almost 20%.
