ScottishPower

We've worked with ScottishPower since 2004 when we were appointed as brand guardian agency, and following the companies merger with Spanish energy retail giants Iberdrola we were asked to undertake a full rebrand of the organisation. The project included a new set of brand identity guidelines covering the application of the brand identity across all mediums above and below the line. As well as this we covered all printed literature, signage, vehicle livery, workwear and, most recently, the ScottishPower visitor centre at Cruachan, which will re-open on the 13th March.

We have also designed ScottishPower's brand microsite for staff and agency use. We created an online tool to streamline the complex process of supplying all their retained agencies and internal marketing personnel with the new brand assets. This will be an ongoing process, as the brand evolves over the months and years.

Working closely with ScottishPower's Brand Management team, we formulated, designed and developed a secure website with tiered user-access and user-management features. A fully updatable and searchable on-screen version of the Brand Guidelines was created, in addition to an asset-management system where all retained agencies can upload images and illustrations, add tags and keywords to them and make them securely available for all registered users of the site to find and download.

All these features were incorporated into a website application that is easy-to-use for an audience of differing technical abilities. The benefit of this has been that all ScottishPower's design and marketing agencies have the same access to the same design assets, which ensures brand consistency while vastly reducing administration time for all companies involved.
