90 Mitchell Street
90 Mitchell St. is D8's studio space.
It was designed by our interiors division, 3D8.
It was important for us that the studio space represented us as a company and the individuals that worked there - we didn't want a showcase, we wanted a working space that felt lived in, industrious and edgy.
It is essentially an open plan studio space which has been stripped back to its bare bones to reveal lots of the original features, part height partitions have been used to divide the space.
The materials palette has been kept simple - timber, ply, laminate, rubber. Colour has been used sparingly and only to highlight key features within the space. The studio walls have felt board all around the perimeter to encourage designers to express themselves.
The D8 office was voted "Best Creative Studio" by The Drum magazine in 2007.
