I wonder where the word 'news' comes from. I guess it must be new or it wouldn't be relevant and therefore it wouldn't be news so it must be new  s.

That just leaves the s. The cynic in me says it stands for shit but it's probably story. Wouldn't it brighten your day, though, if Huw Edwards came on the telly and said "hello, welcome to the new shit" or even better, that really serious intellectual sounding bloke that does the news on radio 4.

Magic. Anyway, here's some new shit about D8/3D8.

D8 News - Partick Thistle Football Club rebrand

Tue, 15 Jul 2008

We were appointed by Partick Thistle Football Club to undertake a full rebrand of the Club’s identity, and indeed everything they produce. This includes brand guidelines, strips, printed literature, signage, online materials and merchandising.

Having a strong track record for high profile branding exercises, including ScottishPower and Six Cities Design Festival, D8 were approached to help resolve the lack of cohesion between current marketing materials and the badly dated identity, which was leading to potential fans struggling to identify with the Club.

The badge, strip, identity and literature are a modern rethink of Thistle from the 60s and 70s, the Halcyon days of Scottish Football. Not wanting a sanitised soft-world focus, D8 wanted to embrace reality, harsh and painful though it may sometimes be, as any PTFC supporter can confirm.
