I wonder where the word 'news' comes from. I guess it must be new or it wouldn't be relevant and therefore it wouldn't be news so it must be new s.
That just leaves the s. The cynic in me says it stands for shit but it's probably story. Wouldn't it brighten your day, though, if Huw Edwards came on the telly and said "hello, welcome to the new shit" or even better, that really serious intellectual sounding bloke that does the news on radio 4.

3D8 were commissioned to design the Nesta, Starter for 6 exhibition in September 2007 for the Six Cities Design Festival, Design into Business conference. Starter for 6 is a new enterprise support programme for innovative ideas that combine science and creativity.
This exhibition showcases the work of eight Starter for 6 participants at the end of the first year of the scheme. A level of flexibility was required to allow for use at other events and conferences. Nesta are looking to expand the exhibit for the next conference in November to showcase a further 10 participating projects.
