Rolling out McGhees
Everyone loves a cake or a pie at some point in their life, in no small way thanks to McGhee's Bakery who have been filling our bellies with some of the tastiest cakes, rolls and pastries for the past 70 odd years. We all know that those crispy rolls you get from the newsagent are spectacularly tasty, especially when filled with a square sausage and potato scone (I am salivating) but what you probably didn't know is that the roll in question is, more than likely, one of the 1.4 million crispy rolls that McGhee's bake and deliver every week!
So when asked to refresh McGhee's brand identity we jumped at the chance, especially when they started to bring samples along to the meetings. We've recently completed a series of projects for them, including a new brand identity which will be applied across a range of materials including packaging, promotional materials, pos, signage and delivery vans. They all feature the tagline 'Geez McGhee's' which we also developed and this has been turned into a series of Radio adverts which features some McGhee's loving celebrities.
"Geez McGhee's has brought a bit of fun to our marketing campaign, whilst emphasising the local nature of the tag line, D8 has given us the opportunity to open up our marketing across the full range of products. We've concentrated mainly on rolls in the past but D8 recognised the potential of adding further products to the campaign. It's a fresh approach that has been received very well in the market place."
