Matthew Algie
16 June 2011
When we started working with Matthew Algie, the UK’s leading independent coffee roaster, we saw an opportunity to energise an established, high quality brand with an injection of humour, purpose and pace.
Matthew Algie are serious about their product, which has some equally serious ethical and quality credentials, so it was all about communicating that in the most appropriate way.
The Tiki brand needed a bit of a refresh so we created a new visual identity, developing and bringing together a new brand framework including illustrations (produced by Allan McConachie and our very own Linda Sweenie), tone of voice (with the help of Chris Miller), typefaces, and colours that have been applied across cups, menus etc. and interior spaces, such as the RNIB cafe, pictured here.
Our illustrated characters bring the brand to life, as well as highlighting the benefits of Tiki coffee and the positive impact that initiatives like Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance have on coffee growers and the environment, not to mention consumers.
